my undoing
i've had a really up and down weekend..., or week that is... gillian-reuben relations really took a beating this time but things should be back on track. haha. Sg s11er's kinda know what i'm talking about. saturday cycling was fun. although it didn't seem as tiring as the last time. but i guess i was more pissed off at the lousy bicycle... stupid lousy piece of junk, no wonder they were going only for $4 an hour. next time, just spend a dollar more and you get a better bike. oh, and niron and pam were 45 mins late.
which brings me to the topic of people being late. Ok, it's something i just cannot really understand. Someone sets the timing that we'll meet for dinner/activity. How difficult can it be to make that time unless you had some other activity at home/sch. And if you did, we know you're going to be coming later so that's ok. But to the others who are never early, does it hurt to leave your house earlier? are you so selfish that you have to make others wait while you slack at home and call me to find out who is there already? it's very inconsiderate to be late especially if you were coming from home and had nothing to do. Is it so hard to even try to be early? do you have any sense of how long it takes to travel around singapore? here's reuben's guide to travelling around singapore
Time allowances you should give yourself when meeting others.
30 mins to get changed
15 mins to actually get out of the house
15-20 mins waiting for bus/mrt
45 mins travel time to ANYWHERE IN SINGAPORE by taking mrt
45 mins bus ride for easties to east coast from anywhere?
45 mins MAX drive to anywhere in singapore incl finding parking space if you travel at 100km/h on the expressway
so total travelling time would be comfortably set at 90 mins? so if people say we're meeting at 5pm, do you want me to call you at 330 to tell you to go and fucking shower? and then call you again at 4pm to find out if you've left your house?
put yourself in my shoes. i try my very best to make the timings set because it is only polite. I can say that if i'm not the first person there, i most probably would be among the first 5 (incl Siva, Justin and people who were in the area anyway). So i call you guys and never fail to find out that you're going to be 30 mins late. Is it my fault that i am able to be punctual but you fuckers always have to take your own fucking sweet time and show up late. Fashionably late my left arse as prash would say. What's so fashionable about being late you tell me. Would it hurt for you to be early in the first place? Even if you were late by like 15 mins, that's not any problem. Sometimes things just screw up. But if you tell me you were late because 30 mins before the agreed meeting time you had just left your house, it's just being fucking irresponsible. is it so wrong that you have to wait for others? are you that important that others have to always wait for you?
arrgh... stupid late people.
ah yes, my undoing... i just totally wasted my last 4 days. Thurs to sunday. Basically, i have an online tutorial due tomorrow, some part of my project due, about 6 lectures behind in physics, 2 tutorials and 3 chapters behind in math and 1 tutorial behind for my statics module. and it's all because of my laziness to get any work done. and the freaky thing is that i know that i'm lazy and that i should be doing work but i just can't seem to get myself to start. and it's getting hard to carry on. mid term results have come out and i'm sure they're not a good representation of what i actually know. Not like i did fantastically well, but i know myself and that i actually know less than what the scores reflect. I got a "satisfactory" for statics, 8/15 for physics and i haven't really checked my math results yet. But at the rate i'm going, the test at the end of the sem are going to look bad. Yes! I know that i have to start working hard, but i just don't want to! sigh... I really have to start working hard from next week onwards. A lot of catching up for physics and math.
also, i would like to give some advise to a good friend of mine whom i hope reads this blog. i find your actions very disturbing. the way you're acting is sending the wrong signals to the other party and to those around you. do NOT overstep your boundary and cause trouble for others. either you're a really sneaky bastard or you are really dumb.
so many other things to write about... but i'll leave it for another day
